Real Madrid are set to sign the highly coveted young midfielder, Jude Bellingham, from Borussia Dortmund, according to Spanish outlet MARCA. The 19-year-old is expected to sign a six-year deal with Los Blancos after months of behind-the-scenes talks.
While personal talks are reportedly at an advanced stage, Sky Germany has clarified that Real Madrid have yet to make an official bid. Nevertheless, Bellingham is said to be drawn to Madrid’s recent success in the Champions League and their track record of prioritizing young players in transfer targets.
Real Madrid has a history of moving quickly in acquiring young midfielders, as they did with Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. Madrid’s ability to close a deal early seems to have worked in their favor yet again, and they will attempt to reduce Dortmund’s €140 million (£123.7m/$154.5m) asking price to a range of €100 (£88.3m/$110.4m) and €120 (£106.0m/$132.m). This is unlikely to cause a serious stumbling block in negotiations, as per the MARCA report.
